We have been very busy the past 10 weeks working in the Fledge Business Accelerator. We have had the privilege of working with some of the most inspiring individuals in the world…both here in Seattle and across the globe…from the Philippines to Africa. The mentors and investors we met with have shared their broad expertise and contacts with us and will be absolutely instrumental as we navigate the journey ahead in continuing to build Vigorous Materials Corporation.

We are gaining significant traction in key areas of development and potential early opportunities to explore for testing and manufacturing. Next week we travel to Spokane to speak with someone who has a breadth of experience in the drywall industry as well as meet up with someone from Washington State University to discuss their Composite Materials & Engineering Center. Today we had a conference call with Queensland University of Technology in Australia, who we will be working with to test materials that are being developed in cellulose water proofing….very exciting!IMG_0671

Demo Day June 14, 2014

The following video presents each of the seven Fledge entrepreneurs story as they share a brief overview of their business and goals. Vigorous Materials is the third presentation after the opening and begins with the sculptural works that have led up to Agosta’s invention of the green building material that his wallboards are comprised of.

Pushing the Boundaries of Paper

I have been sculpting with paper material since 1988. Pushing the boundaries of it’s potential for decades. I wanted to take sculpture to the walls and to do so I needed a light weight material to build what I envisioned. Recycled paper was readily available and I could get it for free. It was the perfect solution and allowed me to explore its potential through a creative process.

In 2012 I began an innovative process that led me to the development of a patent-pending green building material that embodies the ideals of sustainability and has the properties to take on the form of a broad scope of products for the building industry.

From Concept to Prototype
